First. This pattern is not too much complicated, but I think is not for beginners. Although most of the pattern is very simple, understand the pattern of Duck's feet could be a little hard if you don't have experience enough. Nevertheless, if you are an amigurumi beginner, I encourage you to try it. If you have any doubt you can contact me through this post's comments or emailing me.
Second. Notice that I used two different yarn sizes. The thickest one was used for body, head, wings and tail. The finest one was used for beak and feet. You must use the exact size indicated of yarn and hooks to ensure the work be proportional. If you make, for example, the beak using yarn and hook indicated for body, you'll obtain a beak too much big and the duck will look horrible!
I did't have time enough for write the pattern in three languages so, today, English pattern. Maybe next Sunday could publish the Spanish and Portuguese versions :)
Let's go!

Assembly:
- 1.- Sew the beak and the eyes
on head, like is shown in picture bellow. Stuff the head
2- Sew the head on body. Watch carefully the picture bellow to ensure the right position. It’s very important to get the duck shape.
3.- Sew the wings and the tail.
- 4. Finally, sew the feet on body. The position on picture is just for illustrate, sew them in such way that the duck keeps balanced.
5.- Add a ribbon and Parrulo will be less angry ;)

#Update#: I'd forgotten the abbreviations! I do apologize:
R: Round
Ch: Chain
St: Stitch
Sl: Slip stitch
Sc: Single crochet
Dec: Decrease (to make 1 single crochet on 2 stitches)
Rep: Repeat.
I do not understand the beak, could anyone explain it to me please?
ReplyDeleteHi. The beak is not based on a magic ring, instead you must work around a chain, notice that it's an oval shape. You have to start doing 9 chains. After that, in the first round you must work, from right to left, starting in second chain from hook, to the end of the chains, following the pattern (R1: Starting in second chain from hook, sc in next 7 ch, 3 sc in next ch) . The next step is turn and work on the back of the chains, following the pattern (Turn and make sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc). From now work in continuous rounds. I hope I have clarified your doubts, but let me know. :)

ReplyDeletebon noel
You're welcome! ^ ^ I do apologize, I don't speak French :(
DeleteI made a Parrulo Chicken Edition! I followed your pattern in yellow and orange, but made a small cone for the beak and put a red mohawk on his head. It's a great pattern, thank you!
ReplyDeleteParrulo Chicken! Wow.I 'd like to see him. Thanks for your comment. :)
DeleteI have decreased 1 stitch each round from round 10 of his body leaving him with a very long thin body is this correct? I am wondering whether I should have Dec 1 consecutive stitches over round 10 and 11 but I fear that would have made his body too short! Please clarify. Many thanks.
ReplyDeleteHi! Second is right. You have dec 1 consecutive stitches over round 10, 11, ... till you have only 6 stitches, and fasten off.
DeleteThanks, got him sorted now. Rachel
